Wostmann & Associates, Inc has completed many projects for Alaskan corporations including Native Corporations, oil and gas, and utilities. Needs may vary, but all companies face similar challenges with regard to development, integration, implementation and adoption of new technology to better serve customers, shareholders and employees. Wostmann designed and developed a web application for Alaska Electric Light & Power utility to improve the customer experience and drive more timely utility payments. With the system, customers were able to access their accounts and pay bills anytime, anywhere. The work involved migrating from a previous application developed in Java/Enhydra to .NET to better fit the organizations technology standards and improved security via a custom server-side proxy to a third-party credit card processing service. Additional upgrades included multi-account access for landlords and online registration for new service locations.
Our team provided a detailed system analysis and requirements in order for Sealaska Corporation to achieve better assurance and accuracy with regard to voter proxies and faster dividend payments to shareholders. This effort involved interviews with staff and management, update of system requirements, design of a DQL database to replace the current VAX structure and creation of web application screens. The system included a voter tabulation process used by auditors, proxy management subsystem to issue checks to shareholders and support documentation, including specifications, data model and prototype of user interfaces.
Wostmann provided IT consulting and project management for a major power company to produce more accurate billings, faster payment posting, online customer views of bills and better customer service. The project involved replacing the existing enterprise billing system and included coordination and oversight between the company’s IT staff, business office staff and the software vendor. Out team also supported project task definition, planning, scheduling and testing.
